A + D always dreamed of an off-the-beaten-path intimate vintage elopement with very little planning. They weren’t the typical couple to get all dressed up, spend hundreds of dollars on outfits, a lavish venue, or decor. They always pictured their elopement as simple with a vintage vibe and aesthetic. Something where they could just show up with their van, say their vows, and take in the moment of the day in pure bliss. With this idea in mind, they wanted the open road and to let the adventure of their elopement unfold naturally.

Refining the Details
When it came to the details, they wanted to keep things minimal while keeping vintage aesthetics alive. They chose wooden vow books with their elopement date from Kalin Design Co. (send her a private message if you’re interested in the books) and a beautiful neutral-colored bohemian bouquet from a local shop with a small pop of color. Within their vow books stood all their secret hopes, dreams, and poetic love notes to one another. The wooden covers were the perfect way to protect their vows, keeping them safe from wear and tear over time. The bouquet was small enough that the bride could dry them out and make keepsakes out of it later to relish in the memory.

Fit Check
For outfits, retro yet timeless pieces were the name of the game with looks that felt nostalgic but also fun. The groom chose simplicity with a button-up white top and tan pants, while the bride opted for more of a statement with a short lace dress adding a bit of playfulness. She also added a large bow in her hair for a bit of charm. To finish it all off, sunglasses were, of course, a must for the vibe of the day as they wanted to keep things feeling effortless yet stylish.
The Timeline of the Evening
A + D wanted to fully enjoy their elopement during the evening in their van while the sun was setting for the day. They essentially wanted the elopement to be short, but sweet without rushing anything and still taking in the full emotion of their vows.
5:30 PM – Meet up, prep the van, finish up writing vows
6 PM – Take a few photos in van before ceremony
6:15 PM – Private vows are exchanged
6:30 PM – Detail shots of bouquet, rings, vow books
6:45 PM – Frolic and run around enjoying the evening as one and officially a married couple
7:45 PM – Sunset
8 PM – Blue Hour photos start
8:30 PM – Drive off to start the next chapter of their forever.
A + D’s true passion for a laid-back adventurous elopement was nothing short of unforgettable and completely unique to them as a couple. Every moment felt effortless yet filled with so much love and laughter.
